The Charles at Broke sits in Broke, the quieter side of Hunter Valley wine country, a short drive from Pokolbin's main tourist wine route. Broke gives you time to sit with winemakers rather than stand three deep at tasting counters. Time, not crowds.

The House and The Barn sit just steps apart on landscaped grounds, easy for shared meals, photos and celebrations, with quiet nooks for privacy.

Yes. The Estate sits on exclusive-use grounds with no shared spaces, no other guests and no surprise neighbours. The open, private grounds suit multi-generational stays.

Yes. Ample on-site parking close to both residences; convenient for groups and wedding-group suppliers.

Check-in from 2:00 PM and check-out by 10:00 AM. Late arrivals are easy with 24/7 self-check-in.

No pets and no smoking on the premises. Thank you for helping maintain a serene vineyard environment.

The Barn features a 10-person outdoor spa with vineyard views, perfect for sunset soaks. (No pool.)

Yes. The spa is heated year-round. Winter guests typically combine it with the indoor wood fireplace and the sandstone firepit outside, turning a cold weekend into a wine-and-steam affair.

Yes. The spa is built for night use, with vineyard views by day and starlit firepit gatherings by night. Many guests describe it as the highlight of the stay.

Absolutely. The king room with ensuite and the queen rooms suit couples wanting a mid-week escape, with the ten-person spa, sandstone firepit and a wine-fridge-stocked kitchen at your disposal. Smaller groups can book The Barn knowing the bunk rooms are optional, not required.

Yes. Sandstone firepit at the Barn and an outdoor firepit at the House (winter months). Ideal for stargazing beneath clear Hunter skies.

House: inbuilt gas fireplace. Barn: wood fireplace in one lounge, cosy for winter evenings.

Yes. Outdoor lounge areas and lawn games (Jenga, Bocce). Mornings are slow; golden hour lingers beautifully.

We provide a smoke alarm, carbon-monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher and first-aid kit. As a rural property, we also recommend closed footwear at night and a torch for late walks.

The Barn lists an alarm system. The House does not list an alarm system. Please ensure doors and windows are locked when leaving.

60 Wollombi Street, Broke NSW 2330, in tranquil Broke, a highly regarded pocket of Hunter Valley wine country near Pokolbin.

Approx. two hours from Sydney and 1.5 hours from Newcastle by car, accessible and serenely rural.

Driving is simplest. Alternatively, train to Singleton then taxi/private transfer. We can suggest trusted local providers.

Eight cellar doors sit within seven minutes: Margan Wines & Restaurant (3 min), Nightingale (4 min), Krinklewood (5 min), Winmark (6 min), Mount Broke (7 min) and Greenway (7 min) among them. Times are from 60 Wollombi Street, Broke. Hunter Valley Gardens, Roche Estate and Bimbadgen are 15 to 20 mins. For coffee and supplies: Magooneys Café and the Broke General Store.

Yes. With exclusive use of four private acres and two complete residences, The Estate suits corporate retreats (board offsites, planning days and team retreats for up to 20) and extended family reunions where multi-generational groups want their own space within shared grounds.

Yes. Kangaroos, wallabies and local birdlife often appear at dawn and dusk. The rural setting is part of the charm of our vineyard accommodation in the Hunter Valley.

The spa is located at the Barn. For safety and cleanliness, please follow these essentials:

• No make-up, tanning or sun cream in the spa.
• No glass. Use the plastic spa cups provided.
• Cover on, latched & locked when not in use.
• Children supervised at ALL times in and around the spa.
• Additional cleaning/repair fees apply if extra cleaning or repairs are required.

A pre-authorisation of AUD 1,500.00 is placed 1 day before arrival and voided 1 day after departure. Check-in details are released after successful pre-authorisation.

You're in the country, so please take care outdoors. September to April snakes can be active; stick to paths, supervise children and wear suitable footwear in long grass.
